Since 1979, I have farmed in Bloomfield, Ct in partnership with my wife Mary. We have 3 grown up children, who were raised on the family farm helping with the chores and selling vegetables at farmers’ markets. Katie and Sue have married and left the farm, but Dave is still here and is still a great help on the farm. Our farm is located on School Street and runs parallel to Wintonbury Avenue. Over the years, we have sold hay, straw, plants, animals, honey, and vegetables. In the past years we have sold wholesale at the Hartford regional market, and at area farmers’ market. Now that the kids are grown and time is valuable we only sell our wares from the farm. We have a wagon that we use to sell plants, cut flowers, and vegetables on a self service honor system. The hay and straw we sell to customers from the hay loft of the barn.
